TIM PIASKY CEO
Tim Piasky joined as CEO of the BIA-LA/Ventura Chapter in October 2013. As CEO, he manages the daily operations and staff of the chapter while working closely with the BIA Board of Directors.
Tim Piasky has a broad level of company work experience consisting of non-profit housing providers, private residential developer, trade association and County government.
He previously served as a deputy director for Restore Neighborhoods Los Angeles, Inc., an organization that engages in community development activities in an effort to improve the physical, economic and social environments within greater Los Angeles. He successfully managed the corporation’s real estate and construction activities, as well as the planning, direction and management of the housing developments, rehabilitation, asset management, and resale efforts.
Tim was chief redevelopment officer for Neighborhood Housing Services of Los Angeles County (NHS), where he managed real estate and development efforts and served as executive manager of the organizations’ strategic planning activities. NHS serves as a catalyst for local residents, business and government representatives to work together to build stronger neighborhoods, improve the quality of life for low to moderate income families of modest means and to revitalize communities into neighborhoods of choice.
He also served as chief operating officer for Victory Homes, Inc., Director of Environmental Affairs for BIASC, and a Civil Engineer for LA County Department of Public Works. Tim is a certified real estate broker in California and is a professional civil engineer (P.E.). He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Oregon State University and a Master of Science degree in civil and environmental engineering from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.
CHRISTINE RANGEL Senior Director of Government Affairs
Christine Rangel serves as Senior Director Of Government Affairs where she manages legislative and policy issues pertaining to the City of Los Angeles and all of Ventura County.
Prior to joining BIA-LAV, Christine served as government affairs & special projects executive for the National Electrical Contractors Association – New York City Chapter, where she monitored and testified regarding legislative issues concerning union/non-union market share on public jobs, energy, and public safety. She also addressed liability issues and administrative burdens with the Fire Department (FDNY) and Department of Buildings (DOB).
She earned a “2014 Outstanding Woman in the Building & Construction Industry” award from the Women Builders Council for her work.
As business development manager for Bradford Construction – a woman-owned construction manager – she successfully wrote multimillion-dollar award proposals. She also excelled in international marketing and sales for a consumer products company with offices and manufacturing in China.
Christine has a Bachelor of Arts in English and Creative Writing from Sweet Briar College in Virginia, and a Master of Arts in International Business from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland.
DIANA CORONADO Director of Government Affairs
Diana Victoria Coronado works as the Director of Government Affairs, lobbying and advocating for housing, residential building, and development throughout the cities in Los Angeles County. Diana currently sits on the California Women’s Leadership Association Board of Directors, the California State University Fullerton Alumni Board, and the Cal State University D.C. Scholars Board.
Prior to her work in housing, Diana served as the Legislative Affairs Director and In-House Lobbyist for the Association of California Cities – Orange County, representing the interests of local government at the state and federal level.
Diana spent four years working in Sacramento as a Legislative Director in the State Assembly. During her time in Sacramento, she sat on the Board of Directors for the California Latino Capitol Association. She received her B.A. in Political Science from Cal State Fullerton and is an alumnae of the Sacramento State Capital Fellows Program. Diana got her start in politics during her collegiate internship in Washington, D.C. on Capitol Hill.
JENNIFER MINZEY Director of Events
Jennifer Minzey joined the BIA-LAV chapter after working for a private marketing and events management firm that specialized in non-profit, association, and corporate clientele.
Jennifer Minzey has worked with several associations and understands the membership aspect that an association depends on to run their organization.
Jennifer has close to 10 years of event management experience and has produced events from 50 people to 40,000 people, including such large-scale events such as the Special Olympic World Games, Night on Broadway, and the Pasadena Food Bowl, to name a few.
She comes to the BIA with a significant number of education hours under her belt and is earning her credentials through the International Live Events Association and Meeting Planners International.
