In a closed-door session, the Mayor reiterated his goal of seeing 100,000 new residential units come online in L.A. by 2021. Members dialoged on ways to achieve this goal, from reducing regulatory red-tape, to incentivizing construction near transit stops. Garcetti stated his support for the Small Lot Ordinance and committed to continue working with builders to facilitate construction during this critical time. BIA-LAV will begin hosting regular meetings with the Mayor’s team in the coming months to ensure that residential development remains a top priority for the administration.
